Grandview Prelim - Summer 2021 - TaTa For Now

Winding River Equine

est 2021

Located just outside of Haliburton Village on ~200 acres. We have a brand new facility established in 2021.  We are a mother daughter duo who run the farm and have over 50 years horse experience between us.

Teri was born and raised in Haliburton County and has owned & operated South Algonquin Summer Camp for over 20 years. Before that she started into horses in her early teens and has been working with horses and animals ever since. She has a diploma as a Veterinarian Technician and worked with small animals after graduation until she had her first child. Teri has worked odd jobs at various farms while her kids were growing up, allowing her the freedom to start the summer camp and allow her daughter to grow up as a horse crazy barn rat.

Teri holds her Instructor of Beginner's from Equine Canada and is a Pony Club ‘C' level examiner. Teri teaches a lot of the never ever/beginner riders in our lesson program.

Emily is Teri's daughter had has been riding and working with horses for 25 years. Emily started out in the western world barrel racing small ponies by the age of 4, but very quickly moved to English where she could learn jumping. She started lessons at 5 years old hasn't looked back. She accomplished her ‘B' level in Pony Club, she is a certified course designer as well holds her Instructor of Beginner's and is working on getting her full coach certification. Emily started out showing the hunter jumpers but once introduced to eventing she found her passion. She is currently eventing at Preliminary with her TB whom she started as a 3 yr old, with goals of moving to intermediate/advanced level in the future. Emily is currently a dressage student under Daphne Haagmans, FEI dressage rider & coach 3. She also lessons with Kendal Lehari, FEI 5* eventer, for Show Jumping and Cross Country. Emily places horsemanship and horse care above everything, she values calm, correct work and passes this onto all her students, be they horse or rider.
